Abstract
This article investigates semantic correlations between lexical items in English fictional discourse from the perspective of modern linguistics, semantics, discourse analysis, and stylistics. The research explores the structural and functional properties of lexical-semantic relations such as synonymy, antonymy, polysemy, homonymy, hyponymy, meronymy, and associative semantic relations within English literary texts. Special attention is devoted to the role of lexical relations in constructing artistic imagery, coherence, emotiveness, and pragmatic meaning in fictional discourse. The study demonstrates that semantic correlations among lexical units serve not only as linguistic phenomena but also as stylistic and communicative tools that contribute to the interpretation of literary discourse.
